Top 10 Best Vacuum Cleaners of 2024 for a Budget

The easy answer is, "Just vacuum more!" Keeping your home clean can be hard work, but it's necessary. Vacuuming helps remove dust, pet hair, spills, crumbs and other messes from floors and carpets. While we know vacuuming often isn't fun, the good news is that you have plenty of options when it comes to vacuum cleaners, regardless of the size or shape of your home.

The ConsumersSmart.net has been testing and reviewing vacuum cleaners for decades. We test vacuum cleaners by evaluating performance and efficiency, including how much dirt, dust and debris they collect while they run, as well as how easy they are to use, set up, and clean. We also review specifications, such as power, battery life, warranties, noise levels, and filter type, to make sure each vacuum meets consumers' needs. Here are our top 10 picks for the best vacuum cleaners on a budget:

Dreametech W10 Robot Vacuum Cleaner and Mop

This robot vacuum is one of the sturdiest models we tested, and it is highly adept at cleaning all types of floor surfaces. It's also one of the few models we tested that not only has an automatic washing and drying mode but also a heated mop that's also effective on hardwood and tile.

The extra mop handle and fast-rotating mop head are perfect for cleaning corners, and the vacuum's smart navigation, intelligent cleaning, and easy-to-set cleaning schedule make for a highly capable cleaning robot. The robot's only drawback is a middling battery life. And like most robot vacuums, it requires an Internet connection for setup, scheduling, and software updates. The Dreametech W10 is a top-notch robot vacuum that's worth the cost for most people.

LG CordZero Auto Empty Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner Wet Mop All in One Tower

This LG CordZero strongly merits a place on our list thanks to its convenient all-in-one design that lets you clean, charge, empty, mop, and vacuum with one compact device. The cord-free vacuum cleaner is quiet, powerful, and surprisingly lightweight, and you can clean both hard and soft floors, carpets, and even car upholstery. Our only complaint is that the hand vacuum attachment is awkwardly shaped (the tip is absurdly long) and feels a little flimsy, which could cause it to snap off if it's used on the bare floor.

PRETTYCARE Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The PRETTYCARE cordless vacuum works best for small cleaning jobs. It's underpowered for most rooms, but it's great for quick cleaning around your car or for pet owners who can use it as a handheld vacuum. The 6-in-1 design allows you to easily convert it into various sizes for different cleaning tasks. A handle and battery are included, plus a few additional attachments, including a long crevice tool, a dusting brush, and a charging dock. The extra rechargeable battery makes vacuuming over multiple rooms possible (you can even use it without carrying extra batteries), but don't expect to vacuum your entire home in one day. Our pick for GHI's large-sized vacuum, the VonHaus, is more versatile, but the PRETTYCARE is easier to carry and use. On the downside, this vacuum is louder than the VonHaus, which we found annoying. Also, there's a learning curve to using the vacuum. First you need to master the turning motion, which feels counter-intuitive at first. Finally, the vacuum is on the pricey side, but it's worth considering if you enjoy vacuuming and don't mind a few extra dollars.

Fykee Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The Fykee Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is a well-priced, compact cordless vacuum that gets the job done. With a 35-minute runtime and 1.2-gallon dust cup, it's long enough to handle most households' needs. The controls are simple and straightforward, and the vacuum's suction is strong. However, we found it struggled to pick up fine particles from higher elevations, such as curtains, so it might make a better choice for vacuuming low-traffic areas, such as under furniture, rather than tackling the entire house. It also takes about 30 minutes to fully charge the 6-cell battery, leaving less time for the vacuum to work. The Fykee's cleaning modes (boost, normal, and hard) offer more than most cordless vacuums we tested, but the suction doesn't vary much from mode to mode, and it can get difficult to judge how much suction power you have left. We often had to manually switch the vacuum to the hard mode to get a stronger blast of suction, and as a result, the vacuum tended to pick up larger particles. As it uses a 6-cell battery, the Fykee's runtime is shorter than most vacuums, but it still lasts long enough for most cleaning tasks, and it comes with a charger. However, the charging cord is too short for convenient charging in most rooms—we had to put it in a separate room to charge. The cleaner's 360-degree swivel head is a boon for getting around corners and under furniture, but it's more awkward to maneuver around larger furniture. Sadly, the Fykee doesn't charge via USB-C, which most newer devices now include, so you'll be left with a clunky charging cord.

SAMSUNG BESPOKE Jet Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner with All In One Clean Station

The Samsung BESPOKE Jet vacuum cleaner is one of the most powerful vacuums we ve tested, so it should have no trouble cleaning up any surface. Its detachable canister can be emptied by simply pressing a button, and the dust bin holds a lot of debris, so there s no need to dump it manually. You also don t have to pull out the canister, which can be cumbersome, to empty it, and the dust bin is transparent so you can see how much debris is inside. The Dual Brush head pivots 360 degrees, so you can easily clean spots hard to reach. However, we found that the BESPOKE Jet performed better on carpet than on hard floors. Its HEPA filtration does a pretty good job filtering out small particles, but it s not effective when it comes to removing larger debris. So it s not the best vacuum for pet hair. The BESPOKE Jet also has a digital display, so you can use the cleaner as a scale to weigh items you ve picked up, and for each time you empty the canister. The vacuum also has a self-cleaning brush, so, unlike some vacuums, it won t clog up over time with dust and debris. However, the brush is gentle enough to use on upholstery, so you might want to use it on sofas and chairs. Finally, the 5-year warranty is a nice touch.

Tineco Floor ONE S7 PRO Smart Cordless Floor Cleaner

If your home has multiple floors, the Tineco Floor ONE S7 PRO is our most recommended home robotic cleaner because it does a better job cleaning all of our testing floors. It vacuums up pet hair, carpet, and hardwood, and it does so reliably and without fuss. The 3.6-inch LCD screen provides helpful cleaning and status information, including visual confirmation of when the battery is low. The stoppers on the right, left, and bottom of the robot are surprisingly effective at picking up spatter and pet hair, so it's appealing as an overall clean machine. The suction is powerful enough to pick up dirt and pet hair from hardwood and carpet, but it doesn't have quite enough suction to pick up mud and spills from sand or gravel. The robot can get around outside of the main kitchen, but its performance is mostly limited to the main entry way, since the open path can be blocked by furniture. It's frustrating to have to empty the debris collector or dump the dirty water tank, but the robot's battery lasts a pretty long time, so this isn't a frequent occurrence. Overall, the Floor ONE S7 PRO is the best robot cleaner for cleaning more than just floors. It does a great job cleaning both carpets and hardwood floors and does a good job doing so consistently.

Nicebay Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The Nicebay Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is much quieter than most cordless vacuums we've tested, and it's more comfortable to hold and easier to use. The suction power is much higher than most cordless vacuums, which greatly improves the cleaning effect. The washable dust cup is convenient, and the built-in LED light does a great job of illuminating dark corners. However, the cleaning head is a little short, so it can get bogged down in long vertical surfaces. The handle is a little difficult to twist, and the brush roll doesn't spin as efficiently as we would like it to. The filter is also fairly bulky and unwieldy, so there's a lot of back and forth during cleaning. Overall, the Nicebay cleaner is more expensive than most other cordless vacuums, but its powerful suction and wide range of cleaning options make it a useful tool for the discerning consumer.

Sirena Bagless Vacuum Cleaner Premium Pack

The Sirena Bagless Vacuum Cleaner Premium Pack is a reliable, versatile device that catches dust and dirt like only a true bagless vacuum cleaner can. The performance of the Sirena is on par with top vacuums in our tests, making it a great pick for a vacuum that cleans efficiently on all surfaces. Two speed modes, additional tools, and extra filtration are nice upgrades from standard models. It lacks the light of a corded model like the Bissell Zing, but its lower price makes it a more affordable alternative. One drawback: The Sirena Premium Pack doesn't include a hose attachment.

Dyson V15 Detect Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The V15 is Dyson's most powerful, intelligent cord-free vacuum, yet it still has many of the features that made the company's stick vacuums so popular: a slick design, powerful suction, and a high quality build. This vacuum is Dyson's most versatile, with 3 power modes and 2 motorized cleaner heads so that you can clean nearly any surface. The suction is powerful enough to break up pet hair and withstand tough carpet, and the motorized cleaner heads have a number of features, including soft roller technology, making them ideal for cleaning hard flooring. Also, the V15 comes with 4 Dyson-designed tools, including a motorized pet hair tool. This vacuum also impresses on the battery front, with up to 60 minutes of run time, and it comes standard with a year warranty. The V15 is also Dyson's most intelligent vacuum. Its laser dust vision system and smart trigger automatically adapt to the type of dirt being picked up, allowing the V15 to keep sucking without making you stop and manually adjust settings.
